It's Time to Plan for the 31st Annual Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour!

by: Michelle Newman Brady,
Marketing Manager at the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce

I'm a Texas girl, so saying goodbye to summer is always a bit difficult for me.  Embracing Ohio winters has been a struggle - to say the least - but one of the things that makes them bearable (and even enjoyable!) is the arrival of the holiday season with the Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour.

2016 marks the 31st year of the Walking Tour, and it will be held in downtown Granville on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 1pm-9pm.  Hopefully you have already received three important documents about this event by mail:

2016 Christmas Tree Sponsorship Form (first come, first serve)

Your sponsorship of the Christmas Candlelight Walking tour not only helps us decorate the Village in its holiday finest for the season, but sponsorship funds help support the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce, GACC committees, and Chamber educational endeavors for the entire year. For businesses wanting to hold an open house style event on the day of the CCWT, please submit a Participation Form (link above) to be included in the event program.  Any and all local businesses are welcome to submit events for free inclusion.

To kickoff the CCWT this year, we will be doing two new events.  First, mark your calendars for Sunday, November 20 from 5:30-6:30pm for the new tree dedication and the lighting of the trees on Main and Broadway.  The event will open with cookie, cider. and live music on the patio of the Denison President's Home, Monomoy House, at 5:30pm.  The official tree dedication and lighting ceremony will begin at 6pm.

Second, while not a "new" event, the GACC has renewed energy to
celebrate Small Business Saturday the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  Shop local at our village businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year.  Both events will provide an opportunity to welcome visitors and residents alike to our beautiful village while ushering in the start of a wondrous holiday season.

Do you have questions about the tour or how you can best participate?  Contact either Steve smatheny@granvilleoh.com or Michelle michelle@granvilleoh.com today!
